ZERO TO THREE is a national nonprofit organization that informs, trains and supports parents, professionals and policymakers in their efforts to improve the lives of infants and toddlers. A key initiative at ZERO TO THREE is “Coming Together Around Military Families (CTAMF),” which increases awareness about the impact of trauma, grief and loss on very young children through specialized training and support for the professionals who are supporting military families. This initiative is primarily focused on the special circumstances of those families experiencing trauma and loss as a result of a Service member’s deployment.
Julia Yeary, LCSW, is a Senior Training and Consultation Specialist for ZERO TO THREE. She has been involved in supporting military families since 1980. As a part of CTAMF, Julia has focused on working with state Joint Family Support Assistance Programs (JFSAP) in establishing stronger support for military families from the National Guard and Reserve communities that have very young children, including those who do not have access to services found on military installations.
